In an important step to enforce austerity measures, Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi Tuesday banned the extravagant use of government funds, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the official sources, the chief minister forbade the luncheons and parties at the CM House.
The guests will be served tea and biscuits upon their arrival at the CM Office.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi set a new tradition of ordering meal and tea for him from home.
The chief minister also instructed the officers in the CM Office to adopt austerity measures. He himself will bear his personal and staff’s expenses.
The expenses of the CM Office will be substantially reduced, the official sources said.
The expenditure of the CM Office was in crores of rupees during the tenure of former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi.
