Bilawal vows no political vendetta if elected PM, advocates new politics of unity

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has laid out his vision for the country, pledging to establish a network of centers for modern skills for the youth, reported the 24NewsHd TV channel.  

Addressing an election rally in Chiniot on Tuesday, Bhutto expressed his commitment to not seek political revenge if elected as the Prime Minister.

During his speech, Bhutto highlighted the critical challenges faced by Pakistan at this juncture, including economic crises, rising inflation, poverty, and unemployment.

He emphasized the need for a departure from the divisive politics of old, where animosity and hatred had taken precedence over the nation's welfare.

Speaking about the upcoming elections, Bhutto stated that his motivation to contest is rooted in burying the politics of division and hatred.

He called for a transformation in political discourse, advocating for differences to be seen as healthy political debates rather than enmity.

Bilawal stressed the urgency of adopting a new mindset and embracing a fresh political approach.

He warned that if politicians continue to fight amongst themselves, the enemies of Pakistan would exploit these divisions.

Drawing on his experience as a former Foreign Minister, Bhutto acknowledged the numerous conspiracies against Pakistan worldwide but pledged not to let these schemes succeed.

The PPP Chairman underscored that his party has never engaged in a politics of revenge.

Reflecting on the legacy of Benazir Bhutto, he noted that when she became the Prime Minister, she advocated for democracy as the best form of retaliation, driven by a sincere desire to serve the people.

Addressing concerns about wasting time on political rivalries, Bhutto assured that his government would focus on resolving the issues faced by the nation.

The former foreign minister firmly stated that under his leadership, no political worker would be held as a political prisoner, and the unjust arrest of daughters and sisters would not be a part of their culture and politics.

Bilawal Bhutto emphasized the importance of fostering education, skills development, and employment opportunities through the innovative Youth Card program.

“Under the Youth Card initiative, Bilawal Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party (PPP) takes on the responsibility of ensuring holistic growth for the youth, with a focus on education and skill-building that leads to meaningful employment,” he added.  

Bhutto, who has entered the political arena relatively recently, pledged to bring about positive change by creating job opportunities and supporting youth development.

Bhutto questioned the record of a candidate seeking a fourth term as Prime Minister. He challenged the incumbent's claim of providing free medical treatment, countering with the assertion that the PPP has established numerous hospitals in Sindh offering free healthcare services.

Bhutto criticized the rival candidate, who sought a fourth term, accusing him of selfish motivations and a lack of concern for the people. He dismissed the notion of a fourth term as a result of mere votes, urging voters to see beyond what he described as a political conspiracy.

Bhutto expressed his familiarity with the rival candidate, describing him as a person filled with hatred and malice.

He warned of potential reprisals and revenge if the candidate were to secure a fourth term as Prime Minister.

Bhutto framed the electoral competition as a battle between a lion and an arrow, urging voters to choose progress over politics of revenge.
