PTI MNA Junaid Akbar elected PAC Chairman unanimously

PTI MNA Junaid Akbar has been elected as Chairman of Public Accounts Committee unanimously after government’s members voted in favour of him for the key post, reported 24NewsHDTV channel. 

The election for the post of Chairman PAC was held under the supervision of National Assembly Special Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed in NA committee room second. The election was held when the quorum of the committee was completed. All the members raised their hands and voted in support of Junaid Akbar. 

PML-N's Tariq Fazal Chaudhry nominated Junaid Akbar and PTI MNA was endorsed by PML-N Senator Afnanullah Khan and Rana Qasim Noon, Vijaya Qamar and Sardar Muhammad Yusuf. Opposition member Umar Ayub also supported Junaid Akbar and thus Junaid Akabar was elected PAC Chairman unanimously.  

Earlier, PTI had proposed five names and urged the government to nominate among then. PTI names include Opposition Leader MNA Omar Ayub, MNA Junaid Akbar Khan, MNA Amir Dogar, MNA Khawaja Sheraz Mehmood and MNA Adil Khan Bazai.
