CM chairs 5th meeting of standing committee on finance, development

The 5th meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Finance and Development was convened under the chair of the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz at her office on Tuesday.
The meeting decided in principle to enhance the financial powers of Deputy Commissioners, Commissioners, and Revenue Secretaries.
This move is expected to streamline and improve the efficiency of financial operations within various administrative regions.
The committee also sanctioned the recruitment for vacant positions in the Health Information and Service Delivery Unit.
Additionally, approval was granted for the recruitment of entomologists and assistant entomologists across Punjab.
In another significant development, the Punjab Transport Company received approval to fill its vacant posts.
The meeting okayed architecture allowance for employees of the Punjab Architecture Department.
“Approval to increase commission allowance of PPSC employees was also approved.”
To enhance service delivery in retail, the committee approved the purchase of bikes for riders involved in the Model Bazar Home Delivery Project.
Further, the contract with RTEHT for the Regional Blood Centers in Multan and Bahawalpur was extended by one year.
The participants also agreed to increase a grant to support the operations and patient care services of the Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also directed a review of the establishment of a Bone Marrow Transplant Center in the province.
The name of the Government Public Library Roshan Bhila in Kasur was officially changed to Javed Mahmood Public Library Roshan Bhila.
The meeting saw the participation of prominent officials, including Senator Pervez Rasheed, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Finance Minister Mujtabi Shujaur Rahman, Chairman of Planning & Development (P&D), Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR), and various secretaries and relevant officials.
