The EX-Servicemen's Society has expressed deep regret over the recent provincial assembly resolution opposing the Azm-e-Istehkam Operation.
Lt. Gen. (Retd) Abdul Qayyum, President of the EX-Servicemen's Society, stated that the resolution is a sad development.
Lt. Gen. Qayyum highlighted the existence of a nexus between practical and digital terrorism, emphasizing the urgent need for Afghanistan to halt its support for terrorists. He pointed out the lack of security arrangements on the Afghan side of the border, despite Pakistan deploying 800 drones for border surveillance.
"American facilitators in Afghanistan are working to destabilize Pakistan," Qayyum asserted, adding that the US has left $7 billion worth of weapons in Afghanistan, which poses a significant threat to regional stability.
The retired general reiterated that the approval of the resolution against the stability operation is unfortunate and called for stronger measures to counter terrorism and secure the borders.
