Three dacoits killed in police encounter in Okara

Three dacoits were killed by firing by their own accomplices during an encounter with police on University Road in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station in Okara on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Their three accomplices, however, managed to flee from the spot.
Soon after the incident, police set up pickets for the arrest of fleeing dacoits.
According to a spokesman for Okara police, Waseem, a citizen, dialed 15 to inform the police that six to seven dacoits were busy looting the people on the University Road.
And when the police reached the spot, dacoits opened fire at them prompting the Force to retaliate.
However, three dacoits were killed due to firing by their own accomplices, while three others fled from the spot taking advantage of darkness.
Police said it had recovered two motorcycles, stolen items, cash and unlicensed weapons from the dacoits.
Soon a heavy contingent of the police cordoned off the area and launched hunt for the arrest of absconders.
