A day of wedding celebration turned into one of mourning when a brother allegedly killed his sister by feeding her poisonous pills in Kharian, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Monday.
The incident occurred in the Ganbaja area under the jurisdiction of the Sadar Kharian police station.
Sources reveal that Mukhtar Ali, who had recently returned from Greece, fed his sister Mubina pills typically used to protect wheat from rats.
The police have registered a case against Mukhtar Ali based on a complaint from the mother of the deceased.
According to the plaintiff, the family had attended the Nikah ceremony of her second son Qasim Ali leaving Mubina and Mukhtar at home.
The mother alleged that Mukhtar, who opposed Qasim's marriage and had ongoing disputes with Mubina, committed the heinous act.
Following a post-mortem examination, the police handed Mubina's body over to her relatives.
As per the report, Mukhtar Ali escaped from the house after committing the murder.
Kharian Police have started search of the nominated accused in the First Information Report (FIR).
