A local sessions court in Islamabad on Friday replaced non-bailable arrest warrant for PTI Chairman Imran Khan with bailable arrest warrant in a female judge threat case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Additional Sessions Judge Faizan Haider Gilani pronounced the verdict he reserved earlier in the day.
Earlier, the court reserved its judgement on the petition seeking extension in the suspension of arrest warrants against former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in a judge threat case.
Judge Faizan Haider Gilani heard the petition filed by the PTI chairman seeking extension in the suspension of his arrest warrants in the female judge threat case.
Earlier, the judge announced a break in the case hearing till 10:30am when Imran’s lawyers did not show up.
However, after the resumption of the hearing, Imran’s lawyer Ali Gauhar appeared before the court.
He requested the judge to extend the arrest warrants’ suspension till March 30 as PTI Chief Imran Khan was coming to Islamabad Kuchehri to attend the Toshakhana case hearing.
The judge wondered what he was talking about as the warrants were issued for March 29.
Prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi objected to the PTI lawyer’s request.
Judge Gilani remarked that the court might announce any judgement on March 29. He inquired of the lawyer if Imran ever appeared before the court in the judge threat case.
The prosecutor replied in negative. He pleaded with the court to bind Imran to appear before the court during next hearing.
After hearing arguments of both the lawyers, the judge reserved his judgement on the extension in the suspension of arrest warrants against Imran.
Judge Rana Mujahid Raheem issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Imran in the judge threat case.
