Former national cricket team skipper Moin Khan has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to appoint local coaches in the national setup instead of hiring international staff, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to media persons on Saturday, he added that if Pakistani cricketers are not eligible for coaching as per international standards then PCB should conduct a coaching development programme for them.
Commenting about Imad Waseem’s availability for the national squad for upcoming T20 World Cup, the former national keeper said Imad Wasim can play cricket “If his form is good, he must play as Pakistan team also need an all-rounder,” he remarked.
He urged the PCB that it should look after cricketers. Its’ negligence often leads the players to take retirement premature.
“If someone wants to play more for Pakistan then why is he retiring emotionally,” he said adding that PCB should look after such cricketers.
“Why did Aamir retire if he wants to play then he should take back his retirement.”
To a question, he replied that as long as his son Azam Khan is playing, he will not take any position in the PCB because there will be a conflict of interests.
Moin Khan further said that it is not appropriate to take captaincy from Shaheen Afridi back after just one series. “A captain should give time. Whenever you make a captain, make it for a long term.”
