ADB executive directors call on Punjab CM Maryam

Executive directors of Asian Development Bank called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Lahore on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Those who met with Punjab Chief Minister included Noor Ahmed, Kiiko Takahashi, Alberto Cordon Borja, Mushomi Marufi Khan, Yong Yi and Ehtesham Khattak.
The meeting agreed to work together for development and welfare of people in Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that every aspect of public welfare is my priority.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that work on health, education, infrastructure and information technology is going on rapidly.
She said that we are also working for price stabilization and inflation control.
She said after assuming power, it was felt that we are far behind in the basic needs of the people.
Maryam Nawaz said most of the cities do not have waste management system and landfill site and some cities are partially functioning.
Bringing sewerage system for huge population of Punjab is a big challenge, said Maryam Nawaz.
She said we want to bring sustainable and efficient waste management system to every city.
Sustainable drinking water supply, sewage and drainage systems are being developed in cities and villages, Maryam Nawaz said.
She said that matters related to filtration plant are being entrusted to a single department.
She further said that attention is being paid to the construction, repair and rehabilitation of roads across the province.
Maryam Nawaz said that we want to make public sector education system better by core structuring and categorizing schools according to their performance and in this regard teacher training and enrollment projects are underway.
She said up to 15,000 patients are being benefited daily in field hospitals and free medicine is being delivered to 200000 patients suffering from fatal diseases at their doorsteps.
The shortage of doctors in hospitals will be fulfilled, Maryam Nawaz said.
For the first time, Cardiology and child treatment facilities are being introduced in the districts. Said Maryam Nawaz.
“We will provide enough treatment facilities in every district so that no one has to go to other cities”, Maryam Nawaz further said.
She said Air Ambulance Service is being launched for emergency transfer of cardiology and other general patients.
Maryam Nawaz said that IT courses are being conducted in Toyota for skill development of youth.
Companies from other countries, including China, are showing interest in Pakistan's first IT city, she said.
Maryam Nawaz said in 5 years, IT cities will be built in other cities on an emergency basis.
Work on shrimp farming is going on, getting comprehensive Kisan Card for farmers, said Maryam Nawaz.
A huge budget is required for the welfare of 130 million people, Maryam Nawaz said.
Talking on the occasion Mr. Kiiki said Punjab is fully supported in its journey of development and it would be nice to see Pakistan prosperous.
He said we want to be Punjab's partner in the journey of development and prosperity.
Seeing Maryam Nawaz Sharif as Chief Minister gave me a pleasant sensation of real change in Punjab, said Moshumi Marufi Khan.
He said as a woman, Maryam Nawaz Sharif can understand and solve people's problems in a better way.
Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Principal Secretary Sajid Zafar Dal, Secretary P&D, Dr. Asif Tufail were present on the occasion.
