Interior Minister Naqvi secures release of 43 Pakistani prisoners from Sri Lanka

Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi achieved another milestone as he convinced Sri Lanka for repatriation of 43 Pakistani prisoners from Lankan jails. Arrangements for the repatriation of these prisoners will be finalized in a few days.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Sri Lankan High Commissioner (HC) Admiral (Retd) Ravindra Chandra Sri Wijegunaratne called on Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad and agreed on the immediate return of 43 Pakistani citizens imprisoned in Sri Lanka.
In the meeting, the Sri Lankan HC assured the Interior Minister of all possible cooperation for the swift repatriation of the Pakistani citizens. Mohsin Naqvi expressed his gratitude to the Sri Lankan High Commissioner for his cooperation in the repatriation process.
During the meeting, both dignitories discussed matters of mutual interest and the enhancement of bilateral relations. They also agreeed to increase cooperation in security and anti-narcotics efforts.
Moshin Naqvi said arrangements for the return of Pakistani prisoners will be finalized in the next few days. He noted that relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan have strengthened over the past seven decades and expressed Pakistan's desire to further advance bilateral relations in various fields.
The meeting was attended by Federal Secretary Interior Khurram Ali Agha, NADRA Chairman Lieutenant General (Retired) Muhammad Munir Afsar, and relevant officials along with representatives from the Sri Lankan High Commission in Pakistan.
