The sensitive agencies and Islamabad police have temporarily brought to a halt their operation against the Afghan nationals illegally residing in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The operation was halted on the intervention of global diplomatic sources. It is expected that the deadline given to the illegal Afghan nationals will be extended.
The illegal immigrants have been asked to leave the country by October 31.
Sources said that the illegal Afghans have been asked to enter their data by October 31. After the expiry of the deadline, only those Afghans could stay in the country whose documents would be complete.
The authorities would launch a crackdown on those Afghans who would not stay in their allotted camps.
Sources in administration further informed that the post-October 31 plan has not been revealed yet. They said that they would crack down on the illegal immigrants as per the orders of the government.
