Fawad Khan has said he tried to shadow Aamir Khan and Christian Bale in body transformations for The Legend of Maula Jatt, resulting in his hospitalization.
In an interview on leading Pakistani YouTube channel Something Haute, the Khoobsurat actor said: "It is not the best thing I did to myself. I would never do that again. I just made some questionable choices, which negatively affected me."
The 40-year-old actor continued: “There is a dark underbelly to all of these physical transformations and people should know that when you make these decisions, it is taking a huge toll on your health. And it happened. Ten days into it, I was hospitalized. My kidneys shut down."
He said that the doctors prescribed him to walk less and stay away from anything that might give him the slightest stress.
Fawad said that he weighed around 73-75kgs, and his weight rose to 100kgs for the role. He said that he put in insane hours and it is not the right way to do things, he did this because he had limited time. “Due to whatever circumstances, it happened the way it happened. I am not Christian Bale but I tried to do what he does, even Aamir Khan for that matter.”
He said he would never recommend such a transformation to anyone.
