The government of Punjab has admonished the Lahore Police for failing to arrest PTI leader Hammad Azhar, a proclaimed offender (PO) in May 9-related cases, during his appearance at the party’s rally at Kahna, Lahore on September 21, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Lahore Police’s Organized Crime Unit had been tasked with apprehending Hammad.
A large number of the unit’s personnel, dressed in plain clothes, were also present around the stage.
But the PTI leader still evaded arrest which the police attribute to the switching of lights during the rally later in the evening, providing him an opportunity to take advantage of the darkness.
