Police have bought time for registering a case in connection with a violent clash in Punjab Assembly that left Speaker Parvez Elahi injured, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
Additional Sessions Judge Hafiz Rizwan heard the petition filed by the Punjab Assembly speaker, stating there was a violent clash during a session.
He told the court that he sustained serious wounds when lawmakers became lawbreakers earlier in the ongoing month.
The Punjab Assembly speaker said he approached the police against Hamza Shehbaz and other party lawmakers but to no avail.
The court sought a report from the police but the lawmen made a request for giving them time
the SP would show up at the proceedings to give a briefing, hearted the court that gave them time, and put off the proceedings till April 29.
