With heavy rain expected from August 26 to 30, 2024, the Sindh Education Department has issued an important directive to all schools across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Sunday.

In a letter sent to school heads, the department has ordered the immediate cleaning of school roofs and thorough checks of drainage systems to prevent potential water pooling and damage.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a recent weather forecast predicting heavy rainfall during this period, prompting the education department to take precautionary measures for the safety of students, staff, and school infrastructure.

The letter emphasizes the importance of these preventive actions, noting that school buildings may experience leaks and damage if proper measures are not taken.

All school headmasters have been instructed to complete the necessary checks and ensure that their schools are prepared for the upcoming weather conditions. Schools are also directed to keep the department informed of any issues or concerns related to the rain.
