Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani is set to enter the electoral arena by contesting the upcoming general elections, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sadiq Sanjrani, currently serving as the Chairman of the Senate, has
filed his nomination papers to contest a national assembly seat from NA-260.
The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has officially announced the nomination of Sadiq Sanjrani for a parliamentary seat.
His nomination by the Balochistan Awami Party indicates a strategic move to extend his political influence beyond the Senate.
He is the 8th and current Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan. He took his oath of office as a Member and Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan on 12 March 2018. He is the youngest and first-ever Chairman of the Senate who hails from the province of Balochistan.
From June 2023 to July 2023, he served as the acting President of Pakistan. His tenure as Chairman Senate would last on July 2024.
The NA-260 seat holds significance, and Sanjrani's candidacy is expected to draw attention and shape the political dynamics in the region.
