Punjab releases additional funds of Rs25b for district development program

Punjab Government released additional funds of Rs25 Billion under the District Development Program on Friday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the development funds will be spent directly on public welfare projects in the constituencies of the ruling party and allies in the province.
The Punjab Government has launched a District Development Program in the Annual Development Program for the current financial year.
The government has estimated the package at Rs3 trillion for three years to be used for development projects in the districts of Punjab.
According to the official documents, the Punjab government has already released a budget of Rs137 billion to the districts under the district development package.
And now, the additional budget of Rs4 billion has been released in Lahore, Rs3 billion for Multan, Rs1 billion for Rawalpindi, Rs1 billion for Bahawalpur, Rs1.5 billion for Gujranwala and Rs6 billion for Dera Ghazi Khan and Faisalabad districts.
