Police raided the residence of senior politician Javed Hashmi during the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Workers' Convention in Multan and arrested his son-in-law Makhdoom Zahid Bahar Hashmi who is the PTI candidate for PP 220 and his grandson, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.


In a post shared on social media platform X, Javed Hashmi said: “At 1 o'clock in the night, scores of officers of the Punjab Police have surrounded my residence in Makhdoom Rasheed and illegally entered without a warrant, violating the sanctity of the four walls of my house. My son-in-law Shahid Bahar Hashmi and grandson Qasim Hashmi have been taken into illegal custody.


“All employees have been arrested.”

He alleged that the police broke the doors, entered the house and tortured the housemates.


According to family sources, police also arrested the principal assistant of Javed Hashmi.


Javed Hashmi denounced the police raid at his house in strong words.


PTI leaders Mehr Bano Qureshi and Zain Qureshi were also scheduled to attend the PTI workers' convention at his residence.
