5 of family die as two-storey Sukkur building crashes down amid rain

As many as five people including two women and a child were killed when the roof of their house collapsed following the heavy rain in Sukkur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
A two-storey building situated in SITE area of Goth Miandad Khoso in Sukkur collapsed when the area was lashed by heavy downpour. Nine house mates got trapped under the rubble. The rescue officials pulled them out. However, five of them died and four others received injuries.
The dead included two women, one kid and two men. They were identified as Kashmiran (30), Rukhsana, Abdul Qadeer, Ayan (5), and one unknown person.
The injured were shifted to hospital.
Six dead in rain-related incidents in Balochistan: PDMA
On the other hand, according to Balochistan PDMA, six people have been reported dead during the recent powerful monsoon spell in the province so ar.
PDMA Director Faisal Ponzai said that deaths were reported from different districts including Awaran, Qila Saifullah, Zhob, and Naseerabad.
He said that the PDMA was in constant contact with the deputy commissioners of the affected districts. He said that Pakistan Army, FC officials and district administration are taking active part in the rescue activities.
Sakrand canal develops breach
Meanwhile, a 30-foot wide breach occurred in a canal in Tehsil Sakrand of Nawabshah.
People are trying to fix the breach on their own as the irrigation staff has not reached the site yet to repair the crack.
The canal water has entered fields and destroyed standing crops of cotton and sugarcane.
