Punjab bolsters security of foreigners

The authorities in Punjab have beefed up security for nearly 1,500 foreign nationals including Chinese, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday, quoting its sources.

The sources said the 1,460 foreigners included Chinese, American, Korean, Irani, Turk and Egyptian nationals who are working on different projects including CPEC and installations.

Another 16 motorbikes and six vehicles squads have been added to fortify the security layers around the foreigners. Thirty-one CCTV cameras along with a new control room has also been established, the sources said and added the number of private security guards has been raised to 240.

Action has also been taken to remove illegal structures built around the residences and workplaces of the foreigners, the sourced further said.
