Pakistan's young swimmer and four-time national gold medallist Faizan Akbar ‘mysteriously’ went missing in Hungary, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
22-year-old Faizan from Gujar Khan arrived last week in Budapest to compete in the 19th FINA World Championships currently underway in Hungary.
He decided to rest at his hotel after checking in and then ‘mysteriously’ vanished on June 18.
Faizan was set to feature in 100m backstrokes on June 19 but missed the event.
Pakistan Swimming Federation (PSF) has also got no clue about the whereabouts of the swimmer since June 18.
The PSF has sent a four-member squad to Budapest for the World Championship including swimmers, Amaan Siddiqui, Jehanara Nabi, and Bismah Khan. The international event will conclude on July 3.
