Colon cancer on rise in youngsters due to fast food consumption: Report

The National Cancer Registry of the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad has released the first review report of cancer cases in the country, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the National Cancer Registry, mouth, liver, colon, lung, and prostate cancer are most common in men, while breast, ovary, mouth, serous, and colon cancer are most common in women.
The report states that blood cancer in children, and bone cancer in teenagers are common.
The cases of colon cancer are increasing rapidly among youngsters in Pakistan and the main cause of colon cancer is excessive consumption of fast food.
The cancer registry report said 53.61 percent of female and 46.7 percent of male cancer cases have been recorded.
The report further states that 45.13 percent of cancer cases have been reported in Punjab, 26.83 percent in Sindh, 16.46 percent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 3.52 percent in Balochistan.
Mouth cancer stood at second place, colon at third place, liver at fourth place, and lung cancer at fifth place in Pakistan.
National Cancer Registry said, three out of every four people suffer from oral cancer in Pakistan.
High snuff consumption in Sindh, KP, and Balochistan is the cause of oral cancer.
National Cancer Registry to report, 269,202 cancer cases were reviewed from 2019 to 2015, in which it is stated that cancer is increasing due to significant changes in diet.
