Syed Ansar Ali Naqvi was among us on every Eid, we are feeling his absence this time, said Altaf Koti, one of the friends of the martyred senior journalist, in Hyderabad. “Ansar Naqvi isn’t among us on this Eid. I am heartbroken,” he added.
But Koti isn’t alone in missing Ansar Naqvi as all the friends who used to spend the Eid together are shocked by his sudden demise.
Separately in Faisalabad, Adviser to Punjab CM Malik Umar Farooq, Pakistan Kissan Council Chairman Chaudhry Tahir Razzak and Arif Hussain Malik – former chairman of All Pakistan Bed Sheet and Upholstery Manufacturers Association – expressed their sorrow over the tragic loss.
Meanwhile, Punjab Land Record Authority Chairman Sardar Ahmed Ali Dreshak visited the 24NewsHD TV channel office in Dera Ghazi Khan and prayed for the departed soul.
On the other hand, people are visiting Naqvi’s residence to offer condolence to the bereaved family. Not only friends but also political and social personalities are among them.
Earlier on Monday, Federal Minister Ali Zaidi, MQM leaders Farooq Sattar, Faisal Subzwari and Dr Sagheer Ahmed were among those who visited the family.
On Saturday, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail had confirmed the martyrdom of seasoned journalist Ansar Naqvi – Senior Director Current Affairs and Programming at 24NewsHD – in the Karachi plane crash.
Naqvi was going to his native city Hyderabad for spending the Eid holidays with family. His wife Begum Rana was present at the airport to receive him when she received the news about the plane crash.
He had initially decided to travel to Hyderabad by road as his seat wasn’t being confirmed but later boarded the plane after last-minute confirmation.
