UHS to open PhD, MPhil admissions on Oct 30

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has announced a schedule for admissions to MPhil and PhD programs, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.  

The admissions to MPhil and Ph.D. degree programs in various disciplines for the academic session 2023 will start from October 30.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Administrative and Academic Advisory Committee, held at the Jinnah Campus under the chair of Vice Chancellor Prof. Ahsan Waheed Rathore.

During this meeting, heads of all administrative and teaching departments participated and crucial information was unveiled.

It was approved in the meeting that UHS will invite students into Ph.D. programs in five disciplines and MPhil degree programs across 12 disciplines.

Prospective candidates can submit their applications starting October 30, with the all-important admission test for both PhD and MPhil programs slated for November 19.

The admission process, including interviews, is scheduled to conclude by December 31, and the eagerly anticipated classes are scheduled to commence on January 1, 2024.

The meeting also reviewed the performance of 270 MPhil and 75 Ph.D. students.

The gathering also approved unanimously that BS degree programs at UHS and affiliated colleges will transition to a semester-based system from the current academic year.

Additionally, the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree program will also undergo this transformation from an annual to a semester system.

The committee also paid tribute to the late Prof Dr. Tania Shakuri, Head of the Department of Physiology, expressing deep sorrow over her demise.

On this occasion, Fatiha was recited for the deceased.

To honor her enduring legacy, it was unanimously decided to name the university's conference room after her.

Approval was also granted for the establishment of a Career Counseling and Placement Center. This center will operate under the auspices of the University's Alumni Association.
