Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif presided over a meeting in Lahore on Tuesday to review measures for establishment of Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authority (PERA), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


During the meeting, a detailed briefing was held about progress regarding establishment of Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authority. The Chief Minister directed concerned officials to complete the legal proceedings as soon as possible.


She vowed to extend her full support to people to curb inflation. She said that PERA will play vital role to control hoarding and inflation.


She said that her government is introducing structural reforms in every sector while illegal encroachments will not be allowed in streets and bazars.


She further said that PERA will be established in provincial, divisional, district and tehsil levels in the province and a separate District Enforcement Regulatory Board will be constituted in each district of the province.


Punjab Chief Minister said that Divisional Enforcement officer will ensure implementation of law while Hearing Officer will authorize to hear the appeal on tehsil level and decided the case.


Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that an Enforcement Officer including 40 personnel will monitor the prices of essential commodities and will take stern action against those who found involved in creating inflation.


She said that four an appellate forum will be constituted to display timeline of decisions. She further said that moveable encroachments will be removed from the streets which will help to expand streets and bazars.


During the meeting, Senator Pervez Rashid, Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb and Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Secretary Interior, CCPO and other high-ranking officials participated in the meeting.
