The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders came down hard on the government for not discussing the Balochistan situation.

“The situation in Balochistan should be discussed in the National Assembly. The government is not serious,” Omer Ayub told the media as his party staged a walkout from the lower house of the parliament.

He added: “Our voice is being suppressed. Innocent people are being killed. There is no discussion of this matter of great concern.”

In a video message, former national assembly speaker Asad Qaiser said the chair went for normal proceedings.

“Our demand is the issues of Balochistan should be discussed for two days.  We have walked out of the session.”

Reports said scores embraced martyrdom in separate shootings and attacks across Balochistan while 21 terrorists were eliminated and several others were injured as security forces responded to the attacks.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi vowed to swoop upon terrorists saying anyone supporting the attacks in Balochistan is considered a terrorist.

"Anyone who backs the Balochistan attack is a terrorist," Naqvi declared, indicating a zero-tolerance policy towards such terrorism. During a press conference at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, he said that the entire leadership decided to give a strong response to the terrorists.

However, the opposition walked out of the parliament raising the demand for a two-day debate.

‘September 8 public meeting at all costs’

Omer Ayub told the media that the public meeting will be held on September 8 at all costs.

He demanded the ‘replacement’ of Qazi Faiz Isa at the earliest.

He went on: “Terrorism is resurging in the country. Instead of chasing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the government should nail the terrorists.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is the largest political party. It will continue to struggle peacefully. We demand that new elections should be held immediately.”
