Pat Cummins named ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year 2023

Australia skipper Pat Cummins was declared the recipient of the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year 2023.

The inspirational captain enjoyed a superb performance with both bat and ball, achieving notable team accomplishments such as winning the ICC World Test Championship Final, retaining the Ashes, and securing a record sixth triumph in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.

Cummins' leadership since late 2021 has elevated his team to new heights and solidified his legacy as a player who excels in roles of increased responsibility.

On the other hand, Australian captain's teammate Usman Khawaja was announced as the recipient of the Test Cricketer of the Year Award.

Khawaja faced stiff competition from teammate Travis Head, India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, and England's Joe Root for the award, marking a triumphant year that saw Australia secure their inaugural ICC World Test Championship title.

Accumulating a total of 1,210 runs, Khawaja was the solitary player to surpass the four-figure milestone for Test runs in the demanding and fruitful year of 2023.

Earlier, England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award for ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year for the second year in a row.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka star Chamari Athapaththu was named the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year for 2023.
