Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Miftah Ismail hold press conference in London

Awam Pakistan Party (APP) leaders Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Miftah Ismail held a press conference in London on Sunday.
Speaking to the media, Abbasi said the APP will play the role of a real of opposition in Pakistan. He said that supremacy of law is a prerequisite to the progress of Pakistan. He said that he quit the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) due to his principled stance.
Abbasi, who also served as the prime minister of Pakistan after Nawaz Sharif’s removal from power in 2017, said there was a need to restore the confidence of the overseas Pakistanis, who send remittances to Pakistan. He said that people have rejected the appeal of the jailed former prime minister Imran Khan against sending remittances to Pakistan.
When asked about his contacts with the PML-N president, Abbasi said he had no contact with Nawaz Sharif. He said that he had the last meeting with Sharif in London before the February 8, 2024, general elections in Pakistan. He said that Nawaz Sharif had got an opportunity on Feb 8, but he wasted it.
