ECP de-notifies PML-N MPA Kashif Mehmood

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday de-notified Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA from Bahawalnagar Kashif Mehmood after the Supreme Court had dismissed his review plea in a fake degree case two days ago, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The ECP in a notification: “No.F.8 (4)/2020-Cord. - Pursuant to the Judgment dated the 31s` January. 2020 passed by the Hon'ble Islamabad High Court, Islamabad in Writ Petition No. 4715 of 2018, titled (Abdul Ghaffar Vs. Election Commission of Pakistan & 3 others) and subsequent Order dated 23' November. 2021 passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of Pakistan in Civil Appeal No 1271 of 2021 titled (Muhammad Kashif Vs Abdul Ghafoor and others) dismissing the appeal, the Election Commission of Pakistan hereby de-notifies Mr. Kashif Mehmood and withdraws its Notification No.F.2(39)/2018-Cord dated 7th August, 2018 to the extent of Mr. Kashif Mehmood, as returned candidate from Constituency No PP-241 Bahawalnagar-V. By order of the Election Commission of Pakistan.”
Earlier, Supreme Court rejected the plea filed by PMLN MPA Kashif Mehmood seeking to revoke his disqualification.
