A man and his minor daughter died buried under the debris of the roof of their house which collapsed late at night on Misrial Road in Rawalpindi amid rain, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to rescue officials, father and his 7-year-old daughter were sleeping in the house when roof of their house caved in.

The rescue personnel took the bodies of the man and his daughter out from the debris and shifted them to the hospital after necessary work.

The roof of the house was of old construction, probably collapsed due to rain, rescue officials said.

The deceased have been identified as 27-year-old Sajid and 7-year-old Malaika, rescue spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, the roof of a house collapsed due to rain in Sheikhpur, Gujrat and a child died in a roof collapse while five people were injured.
