Rainfall expects to break heatwave starting today in various regions

Rains are likely to begin in different parts of the country today, and due to the rains, the heat intensity is expected to decrease, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to the Department of Meteorology, heavy rain with thunder is expected in different areas of Sindh from today to July 1, and light rain with strong wind and thunder is expected in many places from June 27 in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, and Chakwal.
There is also a possibility of heavy rain. From June 26 to June 30, rain with thunder is expected in Bahawalpur, Lodhran, and Muzaffargarh.
From June 28 to July 1, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir will experience strong winds and thundershowers.
The Meteorological Department says that between June 28 and July 1, there may be rain with thunder in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chitral, Swat, Mansehra, and Abbottabad.
From June 26 to June 28, Lasbela, Khuzdar, is likely to experience strong winds and thundershowers.
Urban flooding is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Narowal after heavy rain from June 28 to 30, while the storm is likely to disrupt daily routines and damage fragile infrastructure.
The Meteorological Department has directed all concerned agencies to be on alert.
Apart from this, the heat wave continues in Karachi, mercury is likely to go up to 40 degrees today, and citizens will bear a partial heat wave for 2 days.
PDMA issues alert in view of rains across Punjab
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert given the rains across Punjab, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
PDMA alerted that rains are forecast across Punjab from June 26 to July 1, and as a result, urban flooding is feared in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Narowal.
An alert has been issued to the concerned administration to deal with urban flooding, spokesperson PDMA said.
There may be heavy storms and some hail in different districts of Punjab.
As solar panel installations have increased, measures are necessary to protect the panels during severe storms, PDMA warned.
In flood-prone districts, the administration should clear the channels of rivers and canals, DG PDMA instructed.
Avoid crossing rivers and streams in rain and floods, PDMA warned.
Director General PDMA said that the law prohibiting bathing in rivers and canals should be strictly enforced.
The purpose of the alert is to complete preparations, DG PDMA said.
He said rescue agencies and drainage agencies should be on alert.
People should follow the instructions of the government and administration, DG PDMA said.
In case of an emergency, contact PDMA Helpline 1129, the spokesperson said.
Sindh Rangers establishes heat stroke centres in Karachi
Sindh Rangers established heat-stroke centres in different areas of the city for the convenience of the people of Karachi.
Cold water and syrup stalls were set up at the Heatstroke campus.
Heat-stroke centres are located on major roads and in public places in the city.
Rangers’ doctors and paramedical staff are also providing various medical facilities to the citizens to protect them from heat stroke.
Cold water bottles and ORS packets are available in the camp, while various medicines and drips are also present.
A large number of citizens are benefiting from Rangers’ heat-stroke centres, including Northern Bypass, Miller Link Road, Al Azhar Garden, and Gulzar Hijri.
A camp has also been set up at Tank Chowk Malir Kala Board Bus Stop, Baldia Town, Al Asif Square, New Sabzi Mandi, Labour Square, Gulshan Mimar, Chandni Chowk, and 24 Market.
