The waste of government resources drew Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s ire during her Children's Library Complex visit.
Accompanied by Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azma Bukhari, Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, MPA Nausheen Adnan, Education Secretary Dr Ehtesham Anwar and other officials, the chief minister took a round of the complex.
Rooms and auditorium were empty while all lights and fans were on, prompting the chief minister to seek a report
She issued directives to prepare an immediate plan for the functionalization of the complex
She inspected the various areas of the main building of the Children's Library Complex and visited the section for special children.
She took rounds of the gymnasium and swimming pool and reviewed the facilities in the Geology, AI, Artificial Section and other departments.
Nawaz Sharif opened the complex in 1988 when he was the province's chief minister.
Also, the chief minister and the officials concerned visited the Bund road corridor project.
She inspected the project site and reviewed the pace of work. The chief minister issued directives to complete the project at the earliest.
