Police have arrested three persons, including the main accused, who was stated to be drunk at the time of going on a killing spree.
Two killed over old enmity in Sheikhupura
Two people were killed in Sheikhupura as the rivals ambushed the victims over an old enmity in the Baway Di Kutya area, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers were waiting for Nadeem and Abdul Rasheed and started firing as soon as seeing them. As a result, they died on the spot.
The killers managed to flee the scene while police filed a case against four nominated persons.
Sheikhupura is notorious for rivalries and killings where murder cases are reported on regular basis.
Earlier this month, a brawl among children claimed the lives of nine people in the Kharianawala area.
It was reported that the children belonging to two groups of Jutt tribe had a scuffle the previous day, which triggered this deadly episode.
On May 9, the elders of the two rival sides clashed again during wheat harvesting. As a result, one of the groups led by Soli Jutt opened fire, killing nine and injuring two others. The victims belonged to the Khadim Jutt group and included a father, wife and son.
Previously, several people were injured when the group used knives in a clash some days back.
The latest killings infuriated the victims’ families who attacked and torched the houses and other properties of the killers.
Such tragic incidents are common in our country, especially in rural areas, where the rivals don’t hesitate eliminating the entire families over petty issues and for honour.
