The Auditor General of Punjab has released volume two of the audit conducted on the Orange Line Metro Train project, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

The audit found financial irregularities of more than Rs2 trillion in the Orange Train project. According to the audit report, there have been irregularities in various financial matters including contracts, overpayments and tax exemptions.

For the early completion of the project, there have been financial irregularities of more than 85 billion rupees and there were also financial irregularities of more than 93 billion in payments to Chinese and local contractors.

According to the report, there have been financial irregularities of more than 80 billion rupees in the civil works of the project. Construction works including contract management were also allotted at exorbitant rates. While the bi-annual rates of the Finance Department were also ignored to complete the project quickly.
