Jhelum court awards 14-year jail to teacher for harassing students

A court in Jhelum Tuesday sentenced a schoolteacher to 14 years in prison and fined him Rs1 million for committing indecent and objectionable acts with students in the classroom, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Amir Raza convicted the accused, awarded him life imprisonment and fined him.
It is to be noted here that a case was registered against schoolteacher Qasim Hussain on September 17, 2022.
“Qasim was accused of committing indecent acts with students in the classroom at a government school in Thala Chohdian,” Domeli police said.
“A challan was presented to the court on the basis of concrete evidence,” they added.
