The Sindh government has suspended the superintendent and deputy superintendent of the Sukkur jail for providing illegal facilities to former PTI minister Ali Amin Gandapur, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

According to sources, the Sindh government suspended Superintendent Ashfaq Ahmed Kalwad and Deputy Superintendent Syed Manwar Ali Shah on the charge of providing prohibited items and illegally providing many other facilities to Ali Amin Gandapur.

Authorities have commenced an inquiry as the two officials were accused of violating the law. According to the sources, the administration provided the Ganda Puri honey to the inmate. The Sindh government has given the additional charge of Sukkur Jail to the Superintendent of Ghotki Jail.

The PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur was sent to the Central Jail in Sukkur on judicial remand a few days ago,  A case was registered against the PTI leader at the new Foujidari Police Station, Shikarpur, on the complaint of a citizen Amanullah, over his anti-state speeches and tweets.

Muhammad Hamza Buriro and Shahbaz Ali Brohi, the counsel for Ali Ahmed Gandapur, claimed a fake case under section 131,153 was registered. They hoped that on the next hearing, the court would free their client. They quoted the court as saying that no further investigation of Ali Amin Gandapur was needed.

They said that the complainant was habitual in registering fake cases against people and his complaint holds no water.

According to Gandapur, he pledged to be loyal to Imran Khan and was determined to fight for his constitutional rights.

He said that the registered cases against him were purely politically motivated based on victimisation.
