Court defers indictment of KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur in audio leaks case

A court in Islamabad on Saturday deferred the indictment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in audio leaks case until the next hearing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


Earlier, Gandapur appeared in the court of Additional and District Sessions Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakar.


Raja Zahooral Hassan Advocate, counsel for the KP CM, appeared in the court.


The court allowed the defendant to go after marking himself present and adjourned the case’s hearing until May 25.  


A case had been registered against Gandapur at Golra police station of Islamabad.


KP CM says does not see government deliver


Later talking to the media, KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur said that the present coalition government was an extension of the government of the PDM parties formed after the ouster of the PTI government in April 2022 through a no-trust vote.


He was of the view that by remaining in power both at the Center and in Punjab, the Sharif family, rather than resurrecting the country’s economy, would amass more wealth and become the richest.


Court acquits Gandapur in Banigala case


Session Courts Islamabad acquitted Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur in the firing case registered in Banigala police station, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.


Judge Qudratullah acquitted all the other accused nominated in the case including Ali Amin Gandapur.


The court announced verdict after recording the statement of the complainant Amir Zaman and injured victim Muhammad Waleed of the case through Skype video call.


The lawyer of the complainant told the court that the victim Muhammad Waleed is out of country and he forgave all the accused and wanted to withdraw his case after compromise with accused.
