Pakistan requires $80b exports every year for proper functioning: Minister

Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce and Industry Dr. Gohar Ejaz has said that Pakistan needs exports worth $80 billion every year without which it cannot run properly, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Saturday, the development of the country cannot be possible without digitization of production.
Gohar lamented that the exports of other sectors are as low as $10 billion per year.
The minister confessed that Pakistan lost $3 billion in exports during the last financial year.
He recalled that as the industry fought for survival, exports from 2013 to 2022 had reached $19 billion.
The minister said let us plan where we want to go.
Gohar Ejaz lauded Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s efforts to increase cotton production in the province.
“As many as 12.5 million bales of cotton are expected this year due to the efforts of Mohsin Naqvi, Gohar Ejaz added.
