Around 200 passengers of a PIA flight from Lahore to Sharjah staged a protest at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore on Saturday after the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan suspended the flight operation due to bad weather.
Even 20 hours after suspension of the PK-185 flight of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the airline did not provide food or hotel to the passengers. The protesting passengers said they had been waiting for 20 hours for their plane to fly to Sharjah, but the PIA did not provide them food or hotel.
In a related development, an Etihad Airways flight bound for Lahore landed in Karachi due to bad weather in the Punjab capital.
At least 243 passengers coming from the United States of America and Canada staged a protest at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport against the airline when they were told that they would be sent to Lahore by bus. The protesting passengers said they were told that they would be taken to Islamabad by plane, but they were later brought to Karachi.
Passenger Umair said that several women and children among the passengers were waiting for the plane to fly to Lahore.
