A District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Monday rejected former premier and PTI Chief Imran Khan’s request to shift his Toshakhana case hearing to a judicial complex. It also rejected a petition seeking court order for Imran’s medical examination by the PIMS hospital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
However, the court accepted Imran’s petition for exemption from court appearance.
Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal heard a case registered against Imran under an attempt to murder section during a protest against the ECP after its verdict in Toshakhana reference.
Babar Awan and Ali Bokhari appeared before the court on behalf of Imran.
During hearing, Awan assured the court that the PTI chief would appear before the court tomorrow (Tuesday). On his assurance, the judge accepted Imran’s plea for exemption from court appearance today.
The lawyer also requested the court to shift the Toshakhana case hearing (which is fixed to be heard in the sessions court tomorrow) to the judicial complex. But the judge turned down his request remarking that he could not order for shifting of the cases to another court.
The sessions judge also rejected the FIA request for Imran's medical examination in the PIMS so that the nature of his wound and ailment could be determined by the doctors.
