PTI moves LHC against Section 144 in Punjab

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf also challenged the imposition of Section 144 in Punjab in the Lahore High Court, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
PTI Punjab Deputy Secretary General Zubair filed a petition application in the Lahore High Court, requesting the court to annul the Punjab government’s decision to enforce Section 144.
The petition contended that the PTI announced a protest on July 26 and the Punjab government had imposed Section 144.
“It is the fundamental right of every political party to stage a protest,” it added, stressing that Section 144 has been deliberately introduced to restrict political activities.
The Punjab government, home secretary, deputy commissioner and others have been made parties in the petition.
