In the ongoing defamation case filed by actor Ali Zafar against singer Meesha Shafi, the Session Court Lahore Monday heard the explanatory statement of Meesha Shafi on a video link, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Meesha Shafi had requested the court to allow him to give an explanatory statement on her recorded statement on the claim of defamation. The court had accepted this request and summoned him for the hearing.

Meesha Shafi denied the allegations of Ali Zafar and said that her account has not been frozen by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as claimed by the actor.

She also said that she has obtained an injunction order from the court on another matter and that it had nothing to do with the defamation case.

She said that she stands by his allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar and that she will prove them in court.

The court adjourned the hearing till December 12 and directed the lawyers of both parties to cross-examine Meesha Shafi on her explanatory statement at the next hearing.
