Maid Fatima’s father demands dismissal of Ranipur SHO

Nadeem, father of 10-year-old Fatima Fariro, who worked as a maid at a home in Ranipur, Khairpur, has demanded the dismissal of SHO Buchal Qazi from service, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Nadeem has said that the SHO by giving protocol to Pir Fayyaz Shah has proved that he worked for him. “This man tried to weaken the case of our child from the very start,” he has alleged, adding, “How can one expect that justice will be done in the case if police personnel will behave like this?”
In a major development in maid Fatima’s murder case, main accused Hina Shah turned herself in to the police yesterday. reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Hina, who remained in hiding for almost a month after the death of Fatima was arrested by Khairpur police.
She was later shifted to the Women’s Police Station.
The accused will be presented in the anti-terrorism court today (Wednesday).
According to SSP Samiullah Somroo, suspect Fiaz Shah, father of Hina, had convinced his daughter to turn herself into the police.
Three days ago, the police had also arrested Fiaz Shah from Ranipur.
Fatima was employed as a maid at the haveli of a local, Pir Asad Shah, was found dead at her home under mysterious circumstances.
Fatima’s mother had lodged an FIR in which she nominated Pir Asad Shah, his wife Hina Shah, and father-in-law Fiaz Shah.
The deceased girl’s father, Nadeem Ali Fariro, had initially said that his daughter was suffering from some kind of a stomach ailment and was shifted to a hospital where she died on the night of Aug 14-15.
But later, some videos of the girl bearing torture marks on her body went viral on social media.
Police obtained these videos and Sukkur CTD Deputy Superintendent of Police Abdul Qadoos Kalwar investigated the matter.
He met with the girl’s parents. He also met with the social activists of the area who highlighted the issue.
He reported to Sukkur Deputy Inspector General Javed Jiskani that the matter was serious and suggested the exhumation of Fatima’s body.
In the meantime, a case was lodged on the complaint of Fatima’s mother.
Later, the post-mortem report of Fatima also confirmed that she was brutally tortured.
According to the post-mortem report, Fatima bore wounds on her chest and head. She was not treated for these lacerations which resulted in her death.
During this whole process of investigation, another girl, (who was also a relative of deceased Fatima) showed up with allegations of torture against Pir Asad Shah.
The girl alleged that Asad and his wife Hina used to beat her.
Her statement was also added to the Fatima case.
