Punjab govt purchases Rs4b worth of drugs for free treatment of cancer patients

In a big initiative, the Punjab government has purchased Rs4 billion worth of drugs for free treatment of cancer patients, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Cancer patients will be provided free treatment, official sources said.
During the era of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the provision of free drugs to cancer patients was stopped.
The current caretaker Punjab government has now completed the procurement of medicines for the cure of cancer.
Patients suffering from Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) will get the medicines free of cost.
