Meagre raise in petrol price proposed

Price of petrol will rise from Rs 249.10 to Rs 249.21: Diesel rate will drop to Rs247.58: Revised prices to take effect from October 1

The government has been proposed a slight increase in the price of petrol and a reduction in diesel prices, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Friday. 

According to the channel report, the price of petrol will rise by Rs0.11 per litre, taking it from Rs 249.10 to Rs 249.21 per litre. 

On the other hand, high-speed diesel will see a decrease of Rs 2.11 per litre, bringing the price down from Rs 249.69 to Rs 247.58 per litre.

Additionally, there is a proposal to lower the price of kerosene by Rs 3.23 per litre and light-speed diesel by Rs 0.89 per litre. 

As per the report, the revised prices will take effect on October 1, following approval. 

Over the past two weeks, global crude oil prices have shown mixed trends, with London Brent oil trading between $71 and $75 per barrel.
