Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan surge 42%

Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan have surged by 42 percent in the first two months of the current fiscal year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to sources, during the same period, Pakistan's imports from Afghanistan recorded a decline of 14 percent.
The sources said that 18 percent increase was recorded in Pak-Afghan bilateral trade in the first two months of this year. The volume of Pakistan-Afghan bilateral trade in July-August 2024 was $278 million, the sources added.
In the same period last year, bilateral trade between the two countries was worth $234 million, the sources said.
Pakistani exports to Afghanistan in July and August 2024 were $193 million while in the same period last year, the volume of exports to Afghanistan was $136 million, sources added.
In July and August 2024, imports from Afghanistan were $85 million while in the same period last year, the volume of imports from Afghanistan was $99 million.
In the first two months of the current financial year, the trade balance with Afghanistan was in favor of Pakistan, sources concluded.
