FIA busts NADRA officers for issuing ID cards to Afghan nationals

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle has arrested four officers of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for their involvement in making identity cards of Afghan citizens, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
The arrested officers were posted at the NADRA Mega Centre in Blue Area, Islamabad, and included Deputy AD Muhammad Tahir, Adnan Amar, Aamir Khan and senior executive Tayyab.
According to the FIA, the officers were adding Afghan nationals to the family tree of Pakistani nationals and receiving one lakh rupees for each case.
The FIA has identified 25 such cases so far in its investigation. The officers were also paid money to include Afghan nationals in the family tree of Pakistani citizens.
The departmental enquiry has also found the officers guilty of the charges and they have been dismissed from their jobs.
