Investigator arrested from courtroom in under-age marriage case

Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed to arrest investigation officer (IO) while hearing an under-age marriage case over his failure to submit medical report of the girl and giving wrong statement in the court, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During hearing of the case, the court asked the investigation officer “where are witness and nikkah khawan”?
The investigation officer replied that both are still untraceable and he is completely unaware of their whereabouts.
The court asked the investigation officer whether he visited the residence of the boy who signed the marriage certificate (nikkah nama)? The IO told the court that he visited the residence of boy but the he was not available only his (boy) brother was there who is himself in police department.
Over his failure to satisfy the court, the court expressed annoyance and directed to arrest the investigation officer. He was immediately taken into custody from the courtroom.
The court also ordered to arrange a meeting of under-age girl to her parents. The court further directed them to hold a meeting for consultations and adjourned the hearing of the case.
It is necessary to mention here that a case of kidnapping of girl was registered in Police Station Pannu Aqil.
Both boy and the girl approached the Sindh High Court to withdraw the case and provide them complete security.
During the hearing of the case, mother of the girl told the court that her daughter is only 15-year-old and a student of first-year.
She alleged that her daughter was abducted and forcefully married.
