Mayo Hospital, one of Lahore's largest and oldest health facilities, has been facing a severe disruption in its diagnostic services, reported 24NewsHd TV channel on Saturday.

The hospital's only CT scan machine has been out of order for the past five days, causing huge inconvenience to hundreds of patients.

The problem began on August 22 when a short circuit led to a fire, rendering the CT scan machine dysfunctional.

Despite efforts to repair the machine, the hospital administration has yet to provide a definitive timeline for when it will be back in service.

The company responsible for the machine's maintenance has not been able to offer a specific date for the repair's completion, leaving patients and medical staff uncertain.

As a result, daily diagnostic operations have reached a standstill, with numerous patients being turned away or advised to seek CT scan services elsewhere.

The hospital administration has directed patients to visit alternative facilities such as Yaki Gate and Syed Mitha Hospital for their CT scans.

This is causing further distress as patients have to travel and wait for their turn in already overburdened hospitals.
